Russell W. VanderSteeg, CLU
Born on August 4, 1962 in Chicago, Illinois, Russ graduated in 1984 from The University of Memphis with a BBA degree. He began his career with a leading national insurance company as an agent in the Memphis Dougharty agency in 1989. From 1992 until 1997, Russ excelled as a Sales Manager and won several awards including the Agency Builder Award, MDRT, Hall of Fame, Life member of Leaders, NQA, and NSAA. On April 1, 1997, Russ became Managing Partner of the Memphis Agency. The firm won the Summit Award, a Ship’s Bell Award, the Heritage Award, The President’s Trophy, and Chairman’s Council three times. Russ was recognized as one of the ‘Top 40 Under 40’ by the Memphis Business Journal. In addition to Memphis, the firm has offices across the Southeast, including Nashville and Birmingham.

Family
Russ and his wife, Denise, and their three sons Jonathan, Stephen, and Daniel, are all active in their church and community.
Lauren Hamsley – Benefits Client Success Manager
In her role as Benefits Client Success Manager, Lauren oversees proposal, onboarding, enrollment, ongoing administration and renewal process for employer group health and welfare benefit plans and serves as day-to-day point of contact to ensure a great client experience.
Prior to joining the SFP Benefits team, Lauren was the General Manager for an Audio-Visual company based in Memphis. Lauren graduated from Tennessee Temple University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in English and Youth Ministry.
Lauren is a long-time resident of Memphis and currently resides in Collierville, TN. She is very active at her church helping to coordinate the Worship and Tech team. She enjoys cooking, baking, reading, traveling, hiking, sporting events (Go Grizzlies, Tigers, Colts, and Blues) and spending time with friends and family exploring restaurants and coffee shops.
